Recruitment of Curatorial Officer
Hong Kong News-Expo Limited is a non-profit organization established for the revitalization of the Bridges Street Market into Hong Kong News-Expo. Planned to commence operation in late 2018, the News-Expo will have displays showing the development of news media in Hong Kong. Education workshops, guided tours, and seminars will be organized for the community. We are looking for candidate who has the passion to join our dynamic team.
Position: Curatorial Officer (Ref.: M/CO/1/2017)
Responsibilities: - To develop themed display and regularly update the exhibit content under the direction of the Programme Committee; - To assist the Chief Executive Officer in planning and organizing the education workshops, guided tours and seminars, including the provision of docent services; - To be responsible for promoting Hong Kong News-Expo, including the preparation of publicity material, social media and website content, and organizing promotional events; - To liaise with stakeholders and collaborate with other institutions, such as education groups and universities for the promotion of News-Expo; - To arrange visits for schools and other organizations to the News-Expo; and - To perform relevant administrative work and other duties assigned by senior officers. (Note: The appointee may be required to work outdoor, and on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.)
Eligibility requirements of candidates: - Ability to organize, present and communicate messages effectively. Fluency in Cantonese, English and Putonghua is required; preferably have previous experience in docent services or guided tours; - At least 10 years working experience. Previous experience in news organizations and education institutes will be an advantage; - Good research skills; - Excellent project management and organization skills; and - Good team working skills and able to work under pressure.
